New improvements have been made on Amazon EC2 Fleet, it now allows you to customize On-Demand Target Capacity in a running fleet. This new feature allows users to look over capacity provisioning and cost optimization across different Amazon EC2 instance types, Availability Zones, On-Demand Amazon EC2 Reserved instances, and Amazon EC2 Spot purchase models. Customers can also use an API call to provision capacity across EC2 instance types and purchase models, to achieve better scaling, performance and costs for their workloads.
