BP Uses AWS for Cloud-First Strategy and Climate Ambitions
BP (British Petroleum) and AWS join together for a new partnership. BP delivers energy products and services to people around the world, and help them transition to a lower-carbon future. In this partnership AWS will provide BP with IT infrastructure and BP will provide AWS with renewable energy. BP will utilize AWS for a cloud-first strategy and for climate ambitions. They also plan to migrate all their data and business-critical applications from their European data centers to AWS. Thus, BP’s partnership with AWS allows them to utilize more cloud services for its infrastructure to help meet its customer’s needs. AWS has already helped to shift specific BP applications to the cloud to quickly adapt to market changes. Furthermore, this partnership is also beneficial for AWS because they plan to become fully reliant on renewable energy in the next 10 years.
