Amazon VPC is now compatible with Amazon EC2 instances, customers can now create the exact same network traffic from an EC2 instance within their Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (VPC). Then they can forward their traffic security and monitoring appliances for content inspection, threat monitoring and troubleshooting use cases. These appliances can be used on an individual Amazon EC2 instance or a number of instances that are behind a Network Load Balancer (NLB) with a User Datagram Protocol (UDP) listener.
